Where were you when you first heard "Chapel of Love", "And Then He Kissed Me", "Do Run Run"? Our Fall production will bring you back to that fabulous era of the early sixties. We've got a terrific cast, a great director, Bob DePersio and enterprising co-producers, Dorry Tooker, Geri D'Amico and Laurie Fosmire prepared to give you an evening of Ellie Greenwich songs and music you'll never forget. Some of the featured players are Playcrafters favorites: Bill Rudock, Nick Sanna, Kathy Ljungqvist and Jennifer Merritt. We are pleased to have choreographer Debbie Bieler and a talented cast of dancers and singers. Among the two dozen songs to be featured are these favorites "Be My Baby", "Do Wah Diddy", and "Leader of the Pack".

We need your input to help us decide on a Spring Show. If you have an idea for a show that Playcrafters should present let us know soon. We welcome all suggestions. Also, if you like to direct a show let us know - we need to expand our list of available, able directors. So, take a few moments to think about shows that might be good ones for Playcrafters to present in the Spring and who might be a good director. Call and share your suggestions with a board member or e-mail us at [email protected] Thanks for your help.

Playcrafters joins the entire Bellport Village community in mourning the recent passing of Raymond J. Rueger of Bellport. Ray's long association with Playcrafters began in the early 1970's when his magnificent tenor voice won him leading roles in our productions of South Pacific, Damn Yankees, Mame, Carousel, HMS Pinafore and Company. An avid Sondheim fan, he also donned the musical director's hat for Gypsy, Side by Side by Sondheim and Company. Ray will long be remembered for his many contributions to the arts in our community. Our sincere condolences go out to his wife, Doris, and the entire Rueger family.

We plan a reunion early in 2005 of the cast and crew of Pirates of Penzance to view the DVD of the show. This should prove to be a very interesting event, one which each of you should enjoy. Details are expected to be available shortly so watch your e-mail.

On Thursday July 15th many members and supporters gathered at the Bellport Beach Estates Beach facility for the annual Playcrafters picnic. The weather was great, the people interesting and interested, the music entertaining and the food superb we each brought our own!!! The pictures are evidence of the evening's fun! If you weren't there you missed a terrific event and had better put it on your calendar for next year!
