of Comedy III: 2010 – LOL
when you thought it was safe to return to the theatre.
Playcrafters’ production of An
Evening of Comedy III was a huge success! Kudos to Director George Loizides
and to our crazy cast including: Lara Bowen, Flo Federman, Jason Glass, Jill
Linden, Dan Love, Peter Morrison, William Palladino, Claire Parrella-Curran and
our Musical Emcee, Sean Burke. A
special nod goes to Sean Burke and Kyle Gubbins for recreating that “Victor
Borge” moment on the piano.
was an evening of giggles and laughter induced by comedy sketches from authors
including David Ives and Tom Stoppard, along with fast paced one (and two)
liners. And, let’s not forget
“Haris Pilton”. Hats off to our
wonderful Production Crew for their hard work and dedication in making this a
fun filled evening. Could there be An
Evening of Comedy IV? Stay
held its annual meeting on January 23, 2011 in the Brown Building in Bellport.
President John Hannon welcomed an excellent turnout, and led a busy business session, with spirited contributions from the membership. He reviewed our activities for the year – notably our 50th anniversary celebration, and our productions of Blithe Spirit and Evening of Comedy III – and reported that both productions were critically and financially successful. The outgoing board members – John Hannon, Annette Maillard, Kathy Loizides and Chrisa Burke – were thanked for their service, and it was noted that Chrisa Burke had resigned from the board due to business obligations. John Hannon was honored for his extraordinary record of serving three terms as president.
nominating committee, comprising Chrisa Burke, Annette Maillard, Linda Conroy
and Judy Perfido, presented a slate of candidates for the board: Ted
Fleissgarten, Jane Love, and Geri Skelly for full three year terms, and Lester
Sprague for a one year term, which slate was unanimously approved.
Federman, the director of our next production, Steel
Magnolias, presented a brief synopsis of this much loved classic.
